Summary

Gemma GPS is designed with privacy at its core. The app processes all coordinate calculations on-device. We do not operate user accounts, collect analytics, or use third-party tracking. This website does not use cookies or browser fingerprinting.

The App

Gemma GPS stores your waypoints locally on your device. The app does not transmit your location data to our servers. Optional features that use network access:

• Reverse geocoding: Sends coordinates to Apple to resolve place names. Controlled by a setting you can disable.
• CloudKit sync: If enabled, syncs your waypoints via your personal iCloud account. We never see this data.
• Photo import: Reads GPS coordinates from photo EXIF data entirely on-device.
• GPX import/export: File handling is performed entirely on-device.

Website — Information We Collect

Standard server logs capture:

• IP addresses
• Request timestamps
• URLs and query parameters
• HTTP headers (User-Agent, Referer, etc.)

Coordinate Converter

The "Try It Now" feature on this website sends your browser's reported coordinates to our server for conversion using GeographicLib. We do not store or log the coordinates submitted for conversion.

Local Storage

This website uses browser localStorage to save your display preferences (theme and language). This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.

Third Parties

We do not use cookies, browser fingerprinting, or third-party analytics services. We do not embed third-party scripts or tracking pixels. We do not sell personal data.

Data Retention

Server logs may be retained indefinitely.

Your Rights

You have the right to not use this service. If you require specific privacy protections, please contact the service administrator.

The operator reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updates.
